After over a week of working on it whenever I got the chance, I've finally gotten a new site layout written! My old layout was built using sadgrl's layout builder, and I loved it, but I wanted something different from my Aveyond site and more modular. I couldn't find anything that quite fit what I was looking for, so I made my own! I'm honestly pretty proud of myself. I use snippets of HTML and CSS a lot, but mostly just editing things; building something from the start, even if it was something really simple, was new for me.
Not that I built this totally from scratch, either. I used a lot of information from w3schools. Still, there's something really exciting about going from totally blank files to the CSS and HTML needed to make a site. I actually know what every line of code means this time! (Other than the JavaScript, that is. One thing at a time.)
The site, of course, remains a work in progress - but I'm really happy with the foundation. My next goals are to update the blog CSS so it meshes with the rest of the site more, fix a pesky mobile sizing issue (I'm so sorry about what the center column looks like rn on small screens), and then get back to adding more pages! For the Media section, I want to add a page for RPG Maker games and for Aveyond specifically, and maybe some shrines for my favorite characters. I might use that as a way to work on more HTML and CSS, honestly. Then for the Projects section, I want to make pages for my art, my fanfiction, and my Aveyond cookie recipes. I'm excited to work on all of it!
In the meanwhile, I'm trying to make an account on status.cafe because it seems like a lot of fun, and I just made a guestbook! Stop by and drop a comment if you're in the mood.
